_My dear " Old Girls",
Greetings on this great feast-birthday of Our Lady! She who is our example and inspiration; she allowed God's power to transform her and to break through her weakness into the mystery of the Assumption!
"The Power of Transformation" - the chosen theme for the issue of the Assumpta Magazine, is rich in meaning and interpretation. Writer, Dr. James E. Loder defined TRANSFORMATION as "not merely referring to change in a positive direction...but also something that occurs whenever, within a given frame of reference or experience, hidden orders of coherence and meaning emerge to replace or alter, or reorder its elements accordingly..."For the Assumption, God is the power that transforms. And it happens each time we encounter HIM. Thus it is that the work of transformation is always to facilitate and provide for a climate where this encounter may take place. The encounter with GOD reorders our life, alters our ways of being and replaces our old, tried and tested ways with new ones that God, Himself will reveal.
This year, the Congregation invites all of us to enter into a period of preparation for the coming General Chapter 2012. Everyone in the " Assumption TODAY" is enjoined to take the posture of "listening to God and to life on the path of COMMUNION, WISDOM and PROPHECY." We are all invited to allow God's SPIRIT to lead us and to take us where God would have us go.
May this year of preparation be a year of transformation for us ll unto becoming more and more the person God wants us to be. May we have the courage and the humility to welcome opportunities for conversion. May we have the tenacity and the perseverance to evolve in our thoughts and sentiments and in our ways of being in order to become more and more persons of inclusion and solidarity.
As we take active part in this preparation for the General Chapter 2012, let our dynamic fidelity keep us open to the newness that the SPIRIT brings.
In the Assumption-
ALL COMES FROM JESUS CHRIST,
ALL BELONGS TO JESUS CHRIST,
ALL IS FOR JESUS CHRIST,
With genuine affection and prayers,
sgd.
